Peach Cobbler

8-10 servings

4 cups of sliced, peeled peaches
2 cups sugar
½ cup water
8 tbsp. butter
1½ cup self-rising flour
1½ cup milk
Cinnamon (optional)

Preheat oven to 350. Combine peaches, 1 cup sugar and water and mix. Bring to a boil on stove and let simmer for 10 minutes then remove from heat. Put butter in a baking dish and place in oven to melt. Mix 1 cup sugar, flour and milk slowly (preventing clumps). Pour over melted butter. Do not stir. Spoon fruit on top, gently pouring in syrup. Sprinkle cinnamon on top. Bake 30-45 minutes. Batter should rise to top for crust.
